Hospital network hacked, 4.5 million records stolen
Earlier today, it was reported that Community Health Systems, based in Tennessee but which operates 206 hospitals across 29 states, was hacked into. The hackers stole 4.5 million patient records containing their names, Social Security numbers, physical addresses, and telephone numbers.
For the victims, there is little they can do – once privacy is lost, you can’t get it back. However, Community Health Systems plans to offer identity theft protection to the 4.5 million victims of the data breach.
At CaptureProof, we understand the importance of patient privacy, and what it means to lose it. That is why we have created a secure, HIPAA compliant platform with industry-leading security so that doctors and patients can communicate to each other confident in the security of our system.
