Doctors Stretched For Time, Monday – Sunday

July 21, 2015 in Uncategorized

Over in the United Kingdom, doctors working for the National Health System (NHS) are facing a problem that’s not unique to them: too many patients and too little time.

When one lawmaker, Jeremy Hunt, accused these consultants of having a “Monday-to-Friday” attitude, these health care providers did not sit quietly. Instead, they took to social media, using the hashtag, #ImInWorkJeremy, to show pictures of themselves, and colleagues, working weekends, 13 hour days, and late nights to make sure their patients get the care they deserve.no3Like we always say at CaptureProof, a picture is worth a thousand words!

It seems Mr. Hunt chose the wrong scapegoat for a problem that is not just affecting the United Kingdom, but many countries worldwide. Even back in 2006, the World Health Organization found that an “estimated 57 countries have an absolute shortage of 2.3 million physicians, nurses and midwives. These shortages suggest that many countries have insufficient numbers of health professionals to deliver essential health interventions…” Internationally, hashtagthere are too few health professionals to service the billions of patients in need. This means that time becomes even more scarce, as doctors (like those above) are commonly known to work 80 hour shifts.

While CaptureProof cannot train more health professionals, it does help those practicing make the most of their time! Some notable studies in which CaptureProof has been used have shown:

iminworkjeremyuse of the HIPAA app for photos, videos & chat:

  • Reduces in-person appointments by 70%
  • Reduce Provider time by 66%
  • Reduces Patient time by
  • 80%
  • Reduce ER Visits by 50%
  • Reduce unneeded tests by 78%
  • Increases accuracy of triage and remote monitoring

CaptureProof wants to give Providers the tools they need to optimize the way they practice so they can offer better care, faster.

Everyone is pressed for time, but let’s give a quick thanks that the care providers in our lives who are willing to give up so much of theirs!
